Fall Wedding Inspiration from a Virginia Wedding Photographer
I’m giving you my favorite Fall Wedding Inspiration from our past fall weddings! I’ll touch on practical tips, color palette advice, and just some of our favorite weddings to scroll through with our Pumpkin Spice!
Fall Wedding Color Palette
Don’t get me wrong, I’m team wear orange all year round, however, we see an increase of that gorgeous glowing orange color palette come time for fall weddings! There’s a knack to make sure the orange flows elegantly through out your fall wedding color palette. My fav color palette from last year’s fall weddings: Olivia & Colby’s Copper, Slate & Neutral color palette was to die for! Her bridesmaids wore copper dresses in satin with simple blank heels and bouquets that danced between copper, neutrals, and subtle pinks. Tip: The couple chose their venue that beautifully accented this color palette. From start to finish their fall wedding palette dances throughout their gallery. Choose a getting-ready venue & wedding venue that compliments your style and lighting.
Fall Wedding Indoor Ceremony
The perfect wedding day doesn’t exist. That’s why you’ll need to have plan B’s in place. Such as a backup ceremony location if the weather gets tricky, and in the fall it can be tricky! My favorite indoor ceremony aka Plan B is Maggie & Matt’s Early Mountain Wedding last November. They had a gorgeous wedding day, however, it was very cold! Like low 40s cold with a breeze, cold. Maggie & Matt along with their coordinator made the call to move their outdoor wedding into the reception space. The reception space at Early Mountain Vineyards is easily the most romantic ceremony alternate location. With candles lit, the florals dancing around them, and the intimate feel of a fireplace, this ceremony was easily a Taylor Swift romantic dream wedding! Tip: When you are looking at venues, make sure you like the alternatives! If you’re planning a summer wedding it’s rare you’ll be able to have it outdoors in the Virginia heat, make sure you like the indoor look and vibe!
Long Sleeve Wedding Dress
It’s not a secret I’ve fallen in love with sleeves and bows, we’re already here. When Kinsey decided to have sleeves added to her Hailey Page dress, my jaw hit the floor. I mean look for yourselves! Daymnnnn, right? Kinsey & Pace’s Middleburg Estate wedding was a fall dream! This is your sign that if you want sleeves but your dress doesn’t have them, they can be added! Which in the end gives you a custom dress no one else will have, you’re welcome! TIP: Leave our options open when you are dress shopping. You may fall in love with a dress and need to alter it to make it THE dress, it’s completely normal. Talk with your design consultant & seamstress about your vision and what options there are!
Wedding Bridal Party Styling
You want to make sure your bridal party styles complement each other, weaving your color palette into the whole vibe. My favorite fall wedding to do this is Madi & Randi’s Fall wedding at Raspberry Plain Manor. Madie had each of her bridesmaids in varying colors and styles of dress. The groomsmen complemented them perfectly with deep blue suits with the perfect floral ties to match the ladies’ dresses. Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix solids & patterns. Adding a splash of pattern can really give the subtle pop your wedding may love!
