Part two of Kristen & Gabe’s engagement portrait experience ended with Sunset Outer Banks engagement photos! They had a small break after their mini-golf engagement photos earlier in the day. Be sure to check out part one, it’s so fun and a great way for a couple to get to know their photographer. After all we’re the person that abnormally close to you while you kiss and follows you around for an entire day.

Any who! Their sunset Outer Banks Engagement photos were so dreamy, but not just dreamy; they were fun, filled with giggles, inside jokes, and shenanigans. That’s just Kristen & Gabe. I know with my couples that I want to give them the safe space to feel like they can let their hair down and be their true selves, and I’m happy to report Kristen and Gabe felt it! We were all cracking jokes and reminiscing about random things from both our early dating stories. It made for fun prompts with these two!

I don’t want you to feel stiff during your engagement portraits. How do I make that happen? Easy, I get to know you. Yes, it’s that simple. I get to know you before the session with a date night questionnaire, built to be implemented into your date night. A combination of fun questions, make-you-think questions, and ‘do you have a favorite side’ kind of questions. Why a questionnaire? Because if I were to fire off these questions the moment we meet, it would be aggressive. I’m trying to set a vibe, not host Jeopardy (however, I’d LOVE that; move over Ken Jennings!)

Back to the dreamy sunset Outer Banks Engagement Photos with a natural photographer. We started near the dunes to get some warm golden hour glow, then we spent the next hour walking along the beach, ended up at a lifeguard chair (not in use at the moment, obviously), and the walk back was more of a friend stroll with a few ‘oh wait, stop here I have an idea’ moments.
