Jimmy & Marissa’s Hermitage Museum & Garden Wedding
Jimmy & Marissa’s Hermitage Museum & Garden Wedding was an absolute dream day! The weather was perfect after a week of rain, the flowers were in bloom, and the sun was perfect! An absolute dream! Add on that these two cuties are made for each other, and you have the perfect spring garden wedding in Norfolk Virginia!
Now you may be saying to yourself ‘these two look familiar’ well that’s because you’ve probably drooled over their gorgeous Norfolk engagement portraits from last year! If you haven’t seen them, do yourself a favor and check them out!
The day started at the Hilton Main in downtown Norfolk. Jimmy was getting ready with his guys, helping him look dapper in his custom suit, heirloom watch, and borrowed cufflinks from a friend who also wore them at his wedding. Every detail his guys had him covered! Just a few floors up, Marissa was chilling with her girls sipping champagne. Marissa calmly strolled about the room until it was time for mom to get her in her dress. A few proud tears, and a couple of jokes about a truck later she was ready to show her girls the dress of her dreams!! This moment was so special!!
Jimmy and Marissa opted for a small official bridal party but included the closest people on their day. The girls were stunning in their complementing dresses & custom earrings. The guys were dapper as always in their suits. This trend of having your friends be close on your day without the stress of being in the wedding is so much fun! I mean just look at the dresses that alone are fun!
Their first look at the Hermitage Museum & Garden wedding was the sweetest! The moment Jimmy turned around to see his bride he was beaming with love! His face lit up and the emotions began, then again Marissa was an absolute stunner in her Studio I Do custom-tailored dress!
The ceremony was one filled with tears of joy and love. Jimmy had us all emotion from the moment he laid eyes on his bride. Their good friend Danny married them with sweet notes about both of their outstanding qualities and how well they were made for each other. Truly a match made in heaven!
Afterward, the party began! A perfect garden cocktail hour with polaroids laughs and delicious cocktails were chosen by the Bride & Groom! Next up was the formal reception, which felt less formal than normal. A joy-filled dance party, complete with the most heartwarming parent dancing (Fun Fact: Marissa’s dad was my guest of the day. He simply enjoyed every moment and it showed!) Queue the music and the dance floor never stopped! Friends hoisted the Bride & Groom on their shoulders during an epic punk rock set and the rest is history!!
