Carl & Ashely’s Intimate Wedding in New Bern
Having an intimate wedding in New Bern is like taking a page straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. First, it’s where the famous writer lives, secondly, it’s this perfect quaint little town on the inlet of the Carolina coast. Let’s not forgot that Pepsi was also invented in this little town. When COVID canceled Carl and Ashely’s original wedding plans they decided New Bern was the perfect place to gather their family for their intimate wedding.
Carl is a badass pilot in the Coast Guard, he has the sweet bomber jacket to prove it. Not to one-up him but Ashley is a freaking doctor. Talk about power couple goals! That’s just their day jobs, together they’re this cool couple who met on Tinder and started their relationship at a German Beer Garden, I mean can there be a more textbook Cat DeLine Couple?!? I’m not sure it’s possible!
Just when you thought they didn’t get any more kickass, Carl proposes to Ashley in Japan…..JAPAN! They have always loved to travel together and explore, so Carl knew their trip to Asia was the perfect time to ask Ashley to be his wife!
We started our photographer relationship over craft brews and a pizza. They originally planned to have an intimate wedding in the Outer Banks with their closest family and friends. Fast forward to the time of COVID and their May 1st wedding plans went out the window. I worked with Ashley and Carl to figure out the perfect alternative for them.
Ashley and Carl agreed New Bern was the place. They gathered their parents, a brother and another brother via FaceTime to join them at the Aerie Bed & Breakfast to celebrate their love story and finally say I Do!
In a small Catholic ceremony, in a little two-room chapel Carl & Ashley married each other in front of their family. Then they walked to the local restaurant for Cake and Toasts. What a sweet ending to the perfect intimate wedding day.
