Who is Astro Event Planning
Pari be real with us. When do you know when it’s time to get a Wedding Planner
I’m definitely biased, but it’s time to get a planner out the gate! We are the stress relievers that let the couples actually enjoy the process and not get overwhelmed by it.
What’s the difference between a Wedding Planner and a Day of Coordinator?
Day-of vs Full Service Wedding Planner….Day-of is a deceiving title because we really begin that process 6 weeks out and are there to tie up all loose ends and see the event through. Full Service is step one where we sit down with you and help map it all out from budget, to vision, to vendor selection from there.
Walk us through the process? What exactly do you take over and how many meetings do you have with your brides? Do you go with them to their meetings and help them choose their other vendors? Basically, how involved do you get?
Our involvement is based on what level of Planning is needed, Full Service, Partial or Day-of.
We’ve been big fans of Astro Entertainment’s Wedding Planning service and love following your instagram – where are some venues or places you’ve gone as a wedding planner?
We are VB based but have traveled to many parts of North Carolina for events and love our local spots of course….the cool art feel of Downtown Norfolk to the vacation vibe of the oceanfront. We love it all!
From your travels and local weddings, are there any trends you’ve seen that you wish more couples would do?
Trends we love…..Private Last Dance….or Private first dance practice in room reveal…any chance our couple can take to have a sweet moment together to take the night all in.
Advice from a Virginia Wedding Planner
In your opinion, what would be the top 5 vendors couples should book right after their venue and why?
After venue is secured, we recommend knocking out:
-Caterer ( since next biggest expense)
-Photography
-Videography since both of these are a vendor that can only do one event per day, we always want our couples to pick who they want not who is simply available.
-Music, same concept as photo/video, getting to pick your DJ or band and securing early.
-Flowers and Decor to start bringing their vision to life.
What are some tips you would like to share to brides when it comes to the week of their wedding?
Week of Wedding Tip: stop obsessing over the weather…your planner will have weather back up plans in place so no use stressing yourself.
What’s your favorite part of being a wedding planner and coordinator?
My favorite part of being a Wedding Planner is the grace under fire trouble shooting we must do to keep the ship afloat from behind the scenes and make the day come together without a hitch.
