How They Met
Alex and Josh are proof that modern love stories can still feel incredibly meaningful. The two met after swiping right on Hinge and quickly began spending time together during the COVID era, which allowed their connection to grow faster and deeper than either of them expected.
Early on, Josh showed Alex exactly who he was. During a ski trip with friends, he braved a snowstorm just to bring back comfort food (cookie dough, ice cream, and chicken noodle soup) for Alex and her friends. It was a simple but telling moment, one that revealed his thoughtfulness and care.
On the Fourth of July in 2021, while watching fireworks along the docks at Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., Josh shared what would become a defining moment in their story, confidently telling Alex that he planned to marry her one day. It was a feeling they were already quietly sharing.
The Proposal
Two years later, Josh began planning a proposal that was just as intentional as their relationship. After asking Alex’s father for his blessing on Easter, Josh spent months carefully crafting a plan, complete with decoy dates designed to keep the surprise intact.
On August 25th, he took Alex on a retro boat ride along the Potomac, launching from the Wharf in D.C. What Alex didn’t know was that two of her close friends were nearby, waiting to secretly document the moment from a dock in Alexandria, Virginia.
As the boat drifted close, Josh got down on one knee and asked Alex to marry him. The moment was intimate, joyful, and unmistakably them, marking the beginning of their next chapter as life partners.
The Wedding
Alex and Josh’s wedding day unfolded at the beautiful Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club, a venue known for its sweeping waterfront views. Their stunning fall wedding embraced the season perfectly.
