Amanda & Reid’s Oceanview Beach Engagement Session
How They Met
Reid and Amanda first crossed paths at the start of PA school. Technically, their story began a little earlier, at a casual class meet-and-greet at a local brewery. Between clinking glasses and first-day nerves, they discovered a few instant connections: their birthdays were only four days apart, and they even shared a mutual friend. What started as an easy conversation that night would soon grow into something much bigger than either of them expected.
Capturing their love around Oceanview Beach was such a beautiful backdrop! It was a stunning summer evening after a week of storms.
The Proposal
When it came time to propose, Reid chose a place already woven into their love story, the Outer Banks. The two had planned a cozy winter getaway, revisiting the spot where they had celebrated their one-year anniversary just a few months before. As the sun dipped low over the dunes at Jockey’s Ridge, with the wind whipping all around them, Reid got down on one knee. It may have been one of the windiest evenings they’d ever experienced, BUT it was also one of the most unforgettable.
Amanda and Reid love cooking side by side in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes, and heading to the beach whenever they can to soak in the summer evenings.
On weekends they love a game of disc golf, watching stand-up comedy, and music playing in the background. Faith is also an important part of their life, they enjoy going to church together and spending quality time together on a Sunday.
After walking around their neighborhood, it was time for a quick outfit change and catching the sunset. This was such a perfect way to capture their typical date night and have a wonderful Oceanview Beach Engagement Session.
One of the sweetest (and funniest) parts of their story is that Reid had a big crush on Amanda early on in PA school. His go-to flirting strategy?… Offering her a piece of gum in class every.single.day. just so he’d have an excuse to talk to her. Amanda was completely oblivious to the flirting and was just excited for a piece of gum!
