A modern wedding resource for couples planning intentional wedding celebrations.
Step 1: you met the love of your life. Now you want to propose but you are wondering “how do I even prepare to propose?!”
First things first, you found your person! Congratulations. The hardest part is done! Now we can help walk you through the next steps to make things official.

Ok, so now that you have that ring and you are preparing to propose, you need to insure the ring! Trust me, you will feel SO much more at ease carrying that ring around knowing that you have it insured. It is surprisingly really easy to insure by adding it to most home, rental or car insurance plans.
Now that you have the ring insured, consider how you plan to carry it for the proposal. Spoiler alert: carrying around a ring box can be bulky and giveaway your plans! You can ask your jeweler to provide you with a plastic ring bag or a small cloth pouch, you could also invest in a keepsake ring pouch that you could use for your wedding day as well.

This is such an exciting and big moment for you and your partner! Did you know most people often say that they blacked out the entire proposal because there were so many emotions happening? This is totally normal!
One way to ease your nerves for the proposal AND make sure those special moments are captured is by making sure you book a proposal photographer! We offer an incredibly incognito proposal package that helps you feel calm and relaxed about your plan. We even set up an incognito email response to not blow your cover and we hop on a quick call to get all the details and make sure you feel at ease with the plan.

The best way to be able to live in the moment, is to feel confident and prepared with your plan! I know it might feel silly, but practice what you want to say. Talk to yourself while driving or look in the mirror and feel confident with how you want to propose. If you feel nervous that you won’t say everything you want to say, you could always write a card to have with you at the proposal.
If you are wanting to incorporate the sunset (or sunrise!) for your proposal, take time to look up the sunrise and sunset times the day you want to propose.

It is SO normal to feel nervous. This is such an exciting and emotional time! We highly recommend taking time to journal leading up to the proposal to get your nerves out. On the day (or week of) try doing some calming meditations to feel more relaxed.
Remember, this time is for you and your partner. It is easy to get caught up in an extravagant event but if that doesn’t feel right for you and your relationship – don’t feel pressured to do something that isn’t you!
Pssst, if your partner is feeling nervous too – send them this advice on how to prepare to be proposed to.
