Kent Island Resort Wedding

Jonah & Travis’ Kent Island Resort Wedding

‘Who are soulmates?’ is be the correct answer *Alex Trebek voice* Jonah and Travis are two former Jeopardy contestants, lawyers, and great humans who are truly soulmates. It’s not every day that you meet someone who is as passionate about Marvin Gardens on Monopoly! Their Kent Island Resort Wedding was a the perfect celebration of your love story.

How they met…

They should have met at Harvard, but they didn’t. They even had overlapping friends and interests. It wasn’t until many years later, in one of the busiest and largest cities in the world, that they met. When they did finally meet, it all aligned. Travis took Jonah out to dinner, but not to just any restaurant. Jonah’s favorite restaurant in a city that has thousands! Jonah knew this was a sign, as he had given Travis no hint. They talked for hours over delicious Italian food, and the rest is history.

Kent Island Resort Wedding Day

A Kent Island Resort Wedding was the perfect location for Jonah and Travis’ wedding. Travis grew up not far from the Annapolis area, a quiet getaway from the city lights. They gathered their family and friends to celebrate their beautiful love story.

Jonah began the day with his sister Leah singing to Madonna, getting ready, cracking jokes, and making a few slick dance moves. The laughter and love these two have together are amazing. Meanwhile, Travis got ready with his brother, nephew, and a friend in the pottery cottage. Cracking jokes, sipping drinks, and adding a little extra spice to the photos with stellar dance moves.

Originally, it was supposed to rain nearly all day. If you’ve been to a Kent Island Resort Wedding, you know how big of a buzz kill that is. But Mother Nature had a change of heart and allowed them to have a truly gorgeous day! So they met at the dock for their first look. Talk about cute. Their reaction to each other was genuine and filled with love.

Jonah and Travis blended their religions and celebrated both throughout the day. Before their traditional ceremony, they had the Ketubah ceremony—a Jewish religious ritual to sign the Jewish Contract that binds them. Supported by their parents and witnesses, they signed as their family looked on, wishing love for their union.

The day would not be complete without everyone’s favorite guest, Linus!! Their fur baby! Linus stole the show, soaking up the extra love and snacks from the family. Upon seeing them, he even ensured his dads wore a little bit of him for the rest of the day with his well-placed excited paw prints. Linus is such a good boy!

As all of their nearly 300 guests gathered under the pavilion, you could feel the excitement and love escalate. After their parents, siblings, flower girls, ring bearers, and best boy, Linus Jonah and Travis walked down the aisle together. As they stepped into the aisle, their guests erupted into cheers and applause. The love these two brought together gave us chills.

Under a gorgeous Chuppah drenched in hydrangea, Jonah and Travis were married by their two close friends, again blending their lives and religions. Their family and friends read the Sheva Brachot, the seven blessings. Followed by personal vows that had us all emotional; from laughs to tears, these two exuded love. The grande finale? As Jonah & Travis had their first kiss, the choir began to sing ‘Freddy Murcurey’s Find Someone To Love!’ and continued as they walked down the aisle husband and husband!

Next, it was time to party! They ushered their guests to the Farmstead, where they were treated to dinner and a show! With spirited toasts, a rendition of Jolene, and a custom song by Jonah’s Harvard Glee friends. It truly was magical to see how loved these two are. The reception grand finale? An epic Horah! One for the books! This was the moment their guests truly became one to celebrate Jonah & Travis! At one point, I was convinced someone would fly as they spun around. Endless smiles, joy, and love.
